Celebrate Samhain is honored to welcome New Hampshire's own award-winning author and Craft Elder, Christopher Penczak as 2009 Keynote Speaker. Christopher will be hosting a workshop, "The Witch's Shield: Protection Magick and Psychic Self-Defense".

Based on his popular book and CD compilation, this workshop addresses the genuine need for protection from such forces as physical harm; harmful energy, judgments and projections; evil eyes; time traps; psychic vampires (drainers of energy, vitality and emotion); unenlightened gurus; past life energies, and last but not least, oneself.

Learn how to protect yourself using personal energy, will, and intent. Discover how to connect with your guardian spirits, angels, and patron deities. Finally, learn how to use traditional spell craft and ritual for protection.

Christopher Penczak is a Witch, teacher, writer and healing practitioner whose practice draws upon the foundation of both modern and traditional Witchcraft blended with the wisdom of mystical traditions from around the world. A practitioner and teacher of shamanism, tarot, Reiki, herbalism, astrology and Qabalah, Christopher is the author of over 15 books on spirituality, healing, and magick, and is the recipient of numerous awards, most notably from the Coalition of Visionary Resources. Founder of the Temple of Witchcraft tradition and system of magickal training, he is an ordained minister serving the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Pagan and metaphysical communities. In 2008 Christopher was initiated as a High Priest in the Cabot Tradition of Witchcraft by Laurie Cabot.

SPECIAL GUEST PRESENTER: Karagan
Chanting: The Ancient Art of Sound
Host of the popular web radio program/podcast WitchTalk and recording artist, Karagan, will lend his considerable talents to a very special participatory workshop, "Chanting: The Ancient Art of Sound" – inspired by his acclaimed album, "Chants of Old".

Chanting is one of the most powerful arts of magick. It is imployed in meditation and religious/ritual ceremonies as a means of altering the consciousness and raising psychic power or energy. Others claim it connects them with the Divine. Chanting is thought to have originated in Greece, where priestesses are said to have 'howled' their chants in the belief that strong vibrations enhanced the power of their incantations. These practices were continued by medieval magicians who sang their chants in forceful voices and into the 20th century by the likes of Aleister Crowley – who believed that chanting had a profound affect on both man and the universe.

In this workshop, Karagan will lead you in the sublime experience of chanting and reveal its secrets. Enhance your ritual callings and invocations by learning how to vibrate sound and how to use it to awaken the Gods.

Dawn Hunt is the founder of Cucina Aurora Kitchen Witchery located on Long Island NY. Creating the sacred every day though simple recipes and food magic, Dawn has introduced kitchen witchery into the homes of many Pagans and Non-Pagans alike.

An introduction to kitchen witchery, the Kitchen Witch Workshop explores what it means to be a "Kitchen Witch", and how to use practical spell recipes to practice your Craft in an everyday way. A practicing Pagan for over 12 years, Dawn came to the path of the Kitchen/Cottage Witch nine years ago. Together with and her husband Justin, Dawn is planning to open a Kitchen Witchery Café in early 2010.

High Priestess of the Granite Tower (NH), Lady Lyrion is an accomplished author and ritualist. In addition to Wiccan Sabbats and Esbats, Lady Lyrion has presided over dozens of Wiccanings, Handfastings, legal weddings, Eldering/Croning rituals, and rituals of passing and transition. Together with his life partner, Lyrion Ap Tower, he has presided over dozens of Esbats, Sabbats, Wiccanings, Handfastings, and other rituals of passing and transition. His work and service are oriented largely toward Pagan tradition, history, lore, and spirituality – with a special focus on Shamanic practice and experience as healing tools.
